Step 1：Revision
1. Greating.
T: Nice to meet you, boys and girls.
Welcome back to school. This is the first day of the new term.
And this is the first lesson of the new term. I’m happy to see you. Are you happy to see me?
Ss: Yes,we are.
T: So we are happy to see each other.
在对话中渗透 the first day   new term  back  each other
2. Free talk.
T: Look at our school. I think there are something new in our school. What’s in our school?
S: There is …/ There are some…
T: Ts there a…in our school?
S: Yes, there is. / No, there isn’t.
T: Are there any…in our school?
S: Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t.
Now you may ask with the sentences: Is there a …? Are there any …?
T: Look, this is my school. There’s a playground. There’s a new building. There are many trees. And there are many students. How many students are there in your class? 在你们的班级里有多少个学生呢？    Read after me, please.
T: How many boys are there? How many girls are there?
通过说自己学校里的设施，对there be的陈述句有所熟悉之后，进行一般疑问句问答，同时对How many …?的句式有了初步的认识。
Step 2：presentation.  
1.T: Boys and girls, let’s look at this picture. It is the first day of the new term.All the students are back at school. They are happy to see each other again.

2. T: Good. They're happy to see each other. They're Wang Bing, Helen and Mike.

T: Yes, there’s a building. There's a new building.

快速浏览，找出答案。
4. T: Are there any other rooms in the building?   Let's watch the movie and answer the questions.
1).How many classrooms are there?
2).How many reading rooms are there?
3).Are there any computer rooms?
T: Now, let's watch it.  
Check the answer.
How many classrooms are there in the building?      There are 24.
How many reading rooms are there in the building?    There are 2.
Are there any computer rooms in the building?       Yes, there are.
5. T: Now, boys and girls, please open your books. Let's read the text.
小组内分角色朗读，读的过程中尽量记住课文主要内容。
