3.Text
It is Sunday morning. Su Hai and Su Yang are at home. They are doing housework. The telephone is ringing.
Su Hai: Hello.
Nancy: Hello. Is that Su Hai?
Su Hai: Yes. Hi, Nancy.
Nancy: Hi, Su Hai. Are you free now?
Su Hai: No. We are doing housework.
Nancy: What are you doing?
Su Hai: I’m sweeping the floor.
Nancy: How about Su Yang? What is she doing?
Su Hai: She’s cleaning the windows.
Su Hai: What are you doing, Nancy?  
Nancy: I’m doing my homework. Can you come and help me with my Maths?
Su Hai: Sure. How about this afternoon?
Nancy: OK. See you this afternoon.
Su Hai: See you.
二、教学目标与要求:
1. 能听懂、会说、会读和会拼写单词及短语morning, home, help, maths
2. 能听懂、会说、会读和会写句型What is/are… doing? He’s/She’s/I’m/They’re…
3.能听懂、会说、会读日常交际用语和句型Are you free now? How about…? Can you come and help…with…? See you in the afternoon.
4. 能听懂、会说电话用语Is that…?Yes, this is…speaking.并能运用到实际生活中去。
5.会唱歌曲What are you doing?
三、教学重点与难点:
    1.教学重点:(1)能听懂、会说、会读和会写句型What is/are… doing? He’s/She’s/I’m/They’re…(2) 能听懂、会说、会读日常交际用语和句型Are you free now? How about…? Can you come and help…with…? See you in the afternoon.
2.教学难点:能听懂、会说电话用语Is that…?Yes, this is…speaking.并能运用到实际生活中去。
四、学生学情分析:
    作为五年级的学生,他们已经有了两年学英语的经验,本单元学的现在进行时时态是学生刚接触到的一个新的语法知识,因为 学生在学习Unit 3  At a music lesson一课中They are having a Music lesson.已初步接触了,所以学生对现在时的概念已经有了一定的了解。
五、教学设计思路:
课一开始,教师与学生自然地交流个人信息,从学生的姓名、电话号码再到个人爱好等,复习句型What can you do? I can play football. How to play football?学生做出相应的动作后,教师自然地新授句型What are you doing? I’m…在学生们巩固此句型后,学生们齐唱歌曲What are you doing?,这首歌不仅活跃了课堂气氛,而且引出句型What is he/she doing?的学习。由谈论学生们正在干什么到老师的朋友们正在干什么,学生们把所学的现在进行时的句型与本课的教学重难点电话用语全部运用了起来。学生利用学的句子,去猜测Su Yang和Su Hai正在干什么,又学习了一些新词组,最后很自然地过度到课文内容的学习。
课前准备: 一本数学书,篮球一个,录音机一台,5A磁带一盘和多媒体课件。
板书设计:

六、教学过程与方法:
Step 1. Greetings
T: OK! It’s time for class. Today I’m your new English teacher. I’m Miss Feng. Hello! Boys and girls!
Ss: Hello, Miss Feng!
T: Nice to meet you.
Ss: Nice to meet you, too.
Step 2. Free talk
① T: Now, it’s Wednesday morning. We are having an English lesson now, right?
Ss: Yes.
T: You know, I’m new here. So I want to know something about you. Excuse me, may I have your name?
S1: I’m / My name is …
T: Nice to meet you.
S1: Nice to meet you, too.
②T: Excuse me, may I have your name?
S2: My name is…
T: Do you like English?
S2: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
T: Do you like Maths?
S2: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t. (问2-3个学生后,出示Maths单词卡片,学生跟读)
③T: Do you like Maths? How about you? (复习已学句型)
S: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
T: Your Maths is very good, I think. But my Maths is not very good. Can you help me?
S: Sure.
T: Oh, thank you. It’s very kind of you. (教师给奖品)
④T: Do you like Maths?
S: Yes, I do.
T: Can you help me with my Maths,too? (呈现词组help … with …)
S: Yes, I can.
T: Oh, thank you. How about this evening?
S: OK. (教师领读help me with my Maths,教师给情境Nancy can’t do her Chinese homework,学生说词组e.g..help her with her Chinese)
Step 3. Presentation
① T: Now, I know something about you. Do you want to know something about me? You may ask me like this.(教师指向课件上呈现的句型,学生可以向老师提任何问题,培养学生的语言运用能力)
S: What is your telephone number?
  What animals do you like? …
  What can you do?
②T: I can dance. Look! I am dancing now. (教师一边做动作,一边说,使学生明白这个句子是现在进行时)
(课件呈现新句型What are you doing? I’m…,学生跟读,CAI呈现一些动词的ing形式,学生个别读,让学生观察、发现、并总结动词加ing的规律,学生齐读)
T: I can play basketball. (教师打篮球)Can you play basketball?
S: Yes.
T: Can you show me ? ( 学生打篮球) Oh, you are playing basketball.
T: Can you play basketball?
S: No, I can’t.
T: What can you do?
S: I can…
T: How to…?
S:学生做相应的动作(动作要有持久性)
T: What are you doing?
S: I am…
T: What are you doing?
S: I am sitting./ I’m having an English lesson. (教师注意提醒学生be动词后的动词要加ing,并纠正动词加了ing后的读音)
③T: What are you doing, boys and girls?
S: We are having an English lesson. (提醒学生这时应用We are…来回答)
T: Where are your English books?
S: They are on the desks.
T: But where is my English book? I can’t find it. Come and help me.(卡片呈现,学生跟读)Who can come and help me?(学生帮助老师找到了书) Oh, there are some pictures here. You can choose one picture and do the action. (教师英语书里夹有一些图片,学生抽出一张并做相应的动作)
④T: What are you doing?
S: I’m… (教师与学生示范对话→学生与学生用图片进行对话练习)
(Students use the pictures and make some dialogues with their partners.)
S: What are you doing?
S: I am…
⑤(学习新句型 What is he/ she doing? He/She is…)
  T: Look! What is she doing?
  S: She is swimming. (教师指向最后一组表演的学生其中的一个)
T: Now, let’s have a rest and sing a song ‘What are you doing?’ Then tell me what Mike is doing? (学生一边看课件一边齐唱歌曲)
T: What is Mike doing? What is he doing? (学生从歌曲中获知信息)
S: He is sleeping.
T: Is he sleeping? (教师指向一个坐得不端正的学生)
S: No.
T: What is he doing?
S: He is sitting.
T: How about that girl? What is she doing?(指向班级某个女生)
S: She is… (教师呈现句子卡片What is he/she doing? He/She is…,学生跟读)
T: What is she doing? (教师在一个学生耳边说单词,让该生做动作)
S: She is… (学生问学生答)
⑥( Look! It is Saturday afternoon. What are my friends doing? What is Wang fang doing? What is Qianqiang doing? Do you know? 让学生猜猜老师的朋友正在做什么事,给学生设置一定的悬念,注意:教师可以写朋友们正在做一些有趣的事,已激发学生的学习兴趣,活跃课堂氛围,为操练电话用语做铺垫)
S: No.
T: I don't know either. But S1 knows. Why? Because there is a piece of paper in her hand. The answers are on the paper. Let me call her. (教师拿出一个玩具电话,与该生打电话,教师与学生之间的对话为下面学生之间的交流,起到一个很好的示范作用)
T: Hello! Is that S1?
S3: Yes.
T: What is Wang Fang doing?
S3: She is…
( 教师呈现电话用语Hello! Is that…? Yes, this is …speaking.学生跟读)
⑦ T: What is Qianqiang doing? Let’s call her together. (全班同学打电话给她)
T: Let’s count the numbers and pass the paper. If Miss Feng says stop. You can call the student who gets the paper. (学生传递着有答案的那张纸,教师喊停,其他学生可以打电话给拿到该纸的学生,这个活动既有效巩固了句型What is he/she doing?又操练了电话用语Ia that…?)
⑧ Say a rhyme (含现在进行时的几种特殊疑问句.学生拍手一起说)
    What are you doing? What are you doing?
    I’m sitting.We’re sitting.
    What is he doing? What is he doing?
    He is sleeping. He is sleeping.
What is she doing? What is she doing?
    He is singing. He is singing.
What are they doing? What are they doing?
    They are dancing. They are dancing.
    What are Su Yang and Su Hai doing?
⑨ T: Oh, I know my friends are doing different things. How about Su Yang and Su Hai? What is Su Yang doing? (课件呈现苏扬在做什么的模糊图片)
S: She is cleaning the windows. (学习词组clean the windows)
T: Clean the chair? Can you make some phrases?
S: Yes. Clean the desk/ door…
T: Can you spell the word‘door’? Can you read this word? (课件呈现单词floor)
同法教授新词组sweep the floor
T: Su Yang is cleaning the windows. Su Hai is sweeping the floor. What are they doing?
S: They are doing housework. (学习新词组do housework/ do homework)
⑩T: Su Yang and Su Hai are doing housework. Suddenly, the telephone is ringing.(课件里有电话声音) Listen! What are they talking about? Let’s look, listen and judge.
(     ) 1. Su Yang and Su Hai are at school.
(     ) 2. Su Yang is cleaning the windows.
(     ) 3. Nancy is doing housework.
(     ) 4. Nancy will(将要)meet(见面)Su Hai this afternoon.

According to the dialogue and complete the sentences.

It is Sunday __________. Su Hai and Su Yang are at________. They are doing_____________. Su Hai is ________the window. Su Yang is _________the floor. But Nancy is ________ her__________in her house.She asks Su Hai to help her with her _________. They will(将要)meet________ afternoon.
Step 5. Homework
1. Read and recite the dialogues.
2. Make a new dialogue according to the dialogue of Unit 6.
