⑴构成

主要用动词原形，第三人称单数谓语动词用第三人称形式

⑵用法

①经常性习惯性的动作或存在的状态，常与often, sometimes, usually, once a week, every year表示频率的副词和时间状语。

I often take a bus to School.

②客观事实和普遍真理

The earth is round

③ 主句为一般将来时，If, as soon as, until, till, when 引导的时间和条件状语从句，从句用现在时表示将来。

When I grow up, I will go to America

④ 某些以here, there 开头的句中，一般现在时表示正在发生的动作。

There goes the bell

(3) 与一般现在时连用的时间状语

① 频度副词often, sometimes, usually,sometimes

② 时间状语once a week, twice a month

③时间状语everyday, every morning, every year

①过去时间发生的动作或存在的状态

We visited a farm last week

②过去习惯或经常发生性的动作

When I was in the countryside, I used to swim in the river,

③与一般过去时连用的时间状语
