point at 一般距离距离
point to 一般距离较远

point to意为“指向”,强调方向,并不是指着该物体.
而 point at 表示“指着某一物体,指人时一般表示粗鲁或不礼貌”
at 指向具体物体。

也有这疑问

point to与point at都含有“指……”的含义，但二者侧重点不同。point to侧重指方向，意为“指向”；
point at侧重指对象，意为“指着”。如果表述的内容强调对象就用point at；如果强调方向，则用point to。例如：  
It is rude to point at a person．指着人是失礼的。  
The teacher is pointing at the map and saying，“Here is Beijing．”  老师指着地图说：“这是北京。”  

point at 后面接具体事物，point to 距离较远
