6A Unit 5 Signs
                                              The first period
教学内容: Unit 5 Signs (story time)
教学目标
1.        能初步感知并理解故事,能够体会故事中主要人物的不同情感,用不同的语气朗读并复述故事。
2.        能够简单地听、说、读单词及词组:sign, smell, at a shopping centre, be careful, mean, floor,, take…into…, in a restaurant,go in
3.        能听懂、会说、会读:What does it mean? It means ……./ No eating or drinking./ No littering./ No smoking./ Wet floor.
4.        能看懂这部分出现的一些公共标志,能够介绍、询问、给人以忠告和建议。
教学重点

教学过程
   Step1. Warming-up
1.        Free talk
What did you do for the National Day holiday?  Where did you go for the National Day holiday?
2.        Picture time
T: I went to Nanjing and took some pictures there. Look at them. Are the pictures nice? Why?
T: What are these in the pictures?
Ss: They are signs.
Teach: sign
( Show the title )
3.        Let’s think!
T: There are many signs around us. Where can we find signs? Let’s think.
Step 2. Presentation
    1. T: We can also see the signs in these places. Let’s look where.
    Show the picture of a shopping centre
     Teach: at a shopping centre   in a restaurant
2. 出示公园图片
        T: Look, what’s this? Ss: It’s a sign.
        T: What does it mean?  (板书并教授)
        Ss: (引导) It means ‘Danger’. (板书并教授 It means…)
        Teach: Danger! (板书)
4.        同法教授No parking! 并让学生根据板书上的句型进行编对话
5.        T: Just now we talked about signs. Some people are talking about signs, too. Who are they? (板书粘贴)
6.        Ask some questions
1)        Where do they go? 2) How many signs do they see? 3) What signs do they see?  4) What do the signs mean?
2)        Watch and answer
1)        How many places did they go ? 2) How many signs did they see?
3)        Read fast and circle the places and signs
T: What are they? Please read the text quickly and circle the places and signs.
7.        Let’s match!
T: Don’t look at your book. I will test your memory . Let’s match the places with the signs. (板书)
8.        Read  Para 1-2 and underline the meaning of the signs
   A: What does it mean?
   B: It means the floor is wet.
   B: It means ‘ Wet floor’. (Teach: Wet floor )
   (同法教授 No littering )
9.        Read Para 3 and answer
T: Then they see a bookshop. Helen wants to go in. (Teach: go in)
T: But Mike stops her. Why does Mike stop her? Do you want to know?
S: Because she can’t take her juice into the bookshop.
T: How do you know? Which sentence did you find ?
Let’s read Para3 together.
Teach : take sth. into… ( Make sentences like this)
  T: Can you say something about the sign. You can make a dialogue like this.
  A: What does the sign mean? B: It means…
10.        Read Para4 and make a dialogue
Ask students to underline the new words. Teach: something smell smoke
T asks students to look at the sign and make a dialogue
A: What does it mean? B: It means you can’t smoke here. It means ‘No smoking’.
11.        Read with the tape
Step 3. Consolidation
1.        Retell the text
Mike, Helen and Tim went to the shopping centre. They saw the first sign. It means… It means… Then they saw a sign in a juice shop. It means… It means…(板书移动)
2.        Help Helen finish the wechat
   Today I went to the _____________________ with Mike and Tim.   
    We saw four signs there. The sign ‘Wet floor’ on the floor means ___________________________.We should(应该)be ____________.The sign _______________ in the juice shop means we can’t litter here.  
    The sign _________________________ means we can’t eat or drink here.
At last, we saw a man in the restaurant. He was_____________ . We reminded(提醒) him and he stopped. Do you know what the sign means?  

Yang Ling: It means_______________.
Su Hai:    Wow, you have a _____ day.
Wang Bing: You know a lot about _____.
                    
3.        Design and talk
选择2个合适的标志贴在所拿到的场景上,用所提供的关键词句编写对话。
4.        情感教育   
Follow the rules, to be a good citizen.
  遵循规则,做个文明人。

     Step4 : Homework
1.         Read and recite the whole story.
2.        Review the meaning of the signs and find more signs around us.
