Unit2  What a day! Story time
  
教学目标  
  
1. Students can read,  understand the diary.
  
2. Students get to know  some new words in the story: cloudy, windy, rainy, sunny, went, became, flew,  brought, could, wet.
  
3. Students try to make a  dialogue according to the diary.
  
4. Students can know the  time sequence and the weather change in the diary.
  
重  点      The diary   
  
难  点      Know the  irregular past tense verbs.
  
Make a dialogue by the  diary.

Step1 Warming-up
  
T: What do you usually do on  Saturdays/Sundays?
  
   How do you spend your weekends?
  
   What day is it today?
  
   Is it a good day?
  
   What’s the weather like today?
  
S: It’s a  fine/good/sunny/rainy/cloudy/windy day.   
  
Step2 Presentation
  
1. Learn the new words  about weather.   
  
2. Say a rhyme about the  new words.
  
3. Talk about the weather  last week with your partners.
  
  What was the weather like last ...? It was  ...
  
4. Talk about what you did  last week.
  
  What did you do last ...? I ...ed ...
  
5. Watch and answer: Where  did Yang Ling go last Sunday?
  
6. Read and fill in the  form.
  
7. Read and order.
  
8. Read and judge.
  
9. Learn the past tense  verbs and phrases.
  
  went(go) to the park by bike,  saw(see) a parrot show
  
  flew(fly) kites high in the sky,  brought(bring) some dumplings, some bread and honey and some drinks.
  
10. Read the diary after  the tape.
  
   Read it together.
  
   Read it in groups. Three in a group. Read  one by one or read together.
  
Step3 Consolidation
  
1. Free asking time
  
  Prepare some questions and try to ask the  other groups.
  
  Prepare some answers to the questions.
  
  If you ask one question, you can get two  points.
  
  If you answer the questions from the other  groups correctly, you can get one point.
  
2. Thinking time
  
  (1) Diary(日记)的格式是?
  
  (2) This diary是按照什么顺序写的?
  
  (3) 随着Time的变化,什么也在变化?
  
  (4) What do you think of the day?
  
Step4 Homework
  
1. Read the diary fluently to your family or  your friends.
  
2. Look at the pictures and try to retell  the diary.
  
3. Finish your workbook U2 Period 1.
