【教学目标】
1. 掌握下列单词、词组和句型并能熟练朗读和使用。
单词:rule, railway, burn, towel
词组:as…as possible, protect oneself from, stay low to the ground, follow traffic rules
句型:We learnt a lot about keeping ourselves safe from fires, floods, earthquakes and traffic accidents.
      How can we protect ourselves from thick smoke?
2. 了解紧急求助电话中需用到的关键表达法。
3. 学会从录音中获取相关信息,培养精听技能。
4. 能用英语谈论遇到危险如何急救,培养学生自我保护意识
【教学重点、难点及突破策略】
培养学生的听力技能,能运用本课所学知识谈论遇到危险如何急救。
【教学过程】
Step1. Presentation
1. Help students review some natural disasters.
2. Describe each picture and ask : which telephone number should we dial for help?
2. Ask students to answer this question: Do you know how to keep yourself safe from floods?
3. Ask students to listen to the missing information about the above question .
Step2. Listening
1. Ask students to work in groups to guess the missing information of A2.
2. Listen to a talk about “Away from danger” and help Simon complete his notes.
3. Check the answers .
4. Work in pairs and talk about how to stay away from danger according to the notes.
Step3. Presentation
1. Help Simon answer Annie’s questions in Part A3, Page 100.
2. Ask students to listen to the tape and check the answers by themselves.
3. Ask two students to read to check the answers together.
Step4. Speak-up
1. Do a first aid quiz.
2. Listen and answer.
3. Read with the tape.
4. Read the conversation together and conclude : What should you do if you burn yourself?
Step5. Homework
  1. Revise what we have learnt today.
  2. Collect more ways which can help us stay away from danger.
