教学目标：
(1)        语言知识：
1. 学习新单词：always, question, ask, must, away, should, cage, noise
2. 学习句型： What does it mean? It means we/you must/should/shouldn’t…
  (2) 语言技能：
1. 初步运用新语言知识表达身边常见的公共标志的名称和意义。
2. 引导学生围绕“公共标志”这个话题展开各项活动，在活动中提高英语表达能力。
(3) 情感目标：
    引导学生通过学习活动熟悉身边的公共标志，遵守社会公德。
教学重点:       
能正确地理解、掌握对话内容，并能朗读、初步表演对话。
教学难点:
能比较流畅的朗读对话，并在掌握对话的基础上，运用本课所学语言与朋友交流公共场合标志的意义。
课前准备：
1. 教具准备：一些标志图片、录音机、磁带、多媒体教学课件或小黑板和挂图。
2. 板书准备：预先写好课题Unit 1 Public signs
【先学提纲】
1.查一查，拼一拼：（试着使用词典或上网等方式查查下列单词的音标及含义，并试着拼读）

Step 1. Preparation

揭题：Unit 1 Public signs
（快速导入、揭题）
2. Check the homework

T: Can you try to read these new words? （多媒体呈现下列内容）

②Answer the questions
T: I think you’ve read the passage well. Who can answer the questions?（多媒体或小黑板呈现先学提纲第2题）
Step 2. Presentation＆practice
1. T shows some signs.
（教师介绍一些本课中出现的标志，并且适当地拓展了一些课外的标志，例如No fishing! No parking! No photos!...并且将这些标志图片贴到黑板上）
2. Watch the cartoon carefully.
  Task 1: Choose the signs they talk about.
Task 2: Put the signs in right places.
  T: Look, there’s a sign on the birds’ cage. There’s a sign on the wall. There’s a sign on the grass.
3. Read quietly.
  T: You should read the text quietly and try to ask some questions according to the text.
  ①学生默读左半篇课文
  （默读完毕后老师邀请学生提问，学生提出一些问题：What day is it today? Where are Ben and Jack? Where is the sign? What does it mean?等，然后由学生从文中找出相关答案进行回答）
  ②同法处理右半篇课文
教师在学生提问的过程中，就本课中的关键内容进行随机板书:
What does this sign mean? It means…
   What should we do? We must/shouldn’t…
教师适当领读；must和should的用法，可让先学的同学进行讲解，教师给予补充。
4. Read loudly.
  ①Ss read the whole passage loudly with the questions on the blackboard and try to underline the answers in the book. （可以适时出示Learning tips: 用铅笔在课文中划出有用的信息）  
②将课文分成三段，依次处理课文。先让学生回答黑板上板书的两个关键问题，学生在文中找出相关答案，教师用多媒体呈现并用红线划出。问答完毕后，学生跟读录音。
T: What does the sign mean?  S1: It means ‘Danger’!（多媒体呈现用红线划出Danger！）
T: What should we do? S2: We must stay away from the building. T: Good. Follow me. Ss: (Read.)
T: Now read after the tape. （多媒体呈现朗读要求：Please pay attention to the intonation and pronunciation.）

（同法处理第二、三段）
  ③梳理完毕后，要求学生利用黑板上的板书提示以及课文内容进行问答练习。
  T: Now try to ask and answer, using the sentences on the blackboard.
  Ss practise in roles or in pairs.
Step 3. Practice
Talk fluently.
多媒体呈现课文中出现的三个场所的图案，学生选择一幅他们感兴趣的图，然后流畅地进行描述。

Step 3. Production
1. Fill in the blanks correctly.
  ①学生完成书面练习（P7）。
  ②请几位学生代表将练习内容放在实物投影仪上，展示练习内容，教师和其余学生一起进行校对、订正。
2. Read and act vividly.
  ①学生选择半篇课文进行表演，先在小组内进行充分的准备。
  ②请几个小组在位置上展示。
  ③其余同学认真倾听，然后每组表演完毕后，同学进行评价。I think… They are… They should…
Step 4. Progress
1. 拓展介绍一些其余的标志。
  T: The public signs are very important. They make us behave more politly, live more safely and make our city more beautiful.
2. 大屏幕呈现：We must follow the public signs.

1. 听磁带，模仿朗读，并尝试在书本上注上一些朗读符号.
