Step1 Presentation
1. Ask some volunteers to list the ‘It is + adjective…’ on the blackboard with their meanings.
① It is necessary for them to support and help each other both before and during the event.
② It is useful to have support teams to bring you food and drinks.
③ It is necessary that you start training a few months before the walk.
2. Ask students to tell out the differences among the sentence patterns.
Step2 Part A: It is + adjective + that clause
3. Tell students we use the structure to say how we feel about something.
4. Ask two students to read and explain the two examples in the grammar table on P99.
5. Ask students to complete the exercise on their own and read out the four each. Check for word order and correct mistakes.
Homework:
1. Make up more sentences by using more adjectives.
2. Finish off the exercises in Part B and Part C.
