1 预习作业:
        Read the dialogue and find out the answers to these questions.
        Where will Amy go?
        Why has Amy’s father gone to Singapore?
        How is Singapore?
        How long does Amy want to stay there?
        Make a dialogue like the model.
        Try to read linking sounds on page36

2预习交流:
        Check out the answers
        Singapore.
        He has gone there for a meeting.
        It’s a nice and clean country.
        About five days.
        Ask two students’ to tell us the dialogue.

3展示交流:
        T: Traveling is very interesting. May Day is coming and it’s a good Season for traveling. Do you have any ideas about what to do for May Day holiday?
        Students: …
        T: Amy will go traveling. Where will she go? Listen to the tape.
        S: Singapore.
        T: More questions for you.
        a. Why has Amy’s father gone to Singapore?
        (He has gone there for a meeting.)
        b. How is Singapore?
        (It’s a nice and clean country.)
        c. How long does Amy want to stay there?
        (About five days.)
  Practice:  
        a. Make up a dialogue between a Chinese guide and a foreign tourist.
        e.g. G: Where did you go last summer?
        F: I went to the beautiful seaside city Qingdao.
        G: What did you do there?
        F: I went sailing and swimming. It was wonderful.
        G: Then where will you go during this May Day holiday?
        F: …                                    
        b. A tourist is asking Travel agency some questions. Please make up
         a dialogue.
        Having a revision
        T: How many consonant sounds are there in the phonetics?
        S: 28.
        T: How many vowel sounds are there?
        S: 20.
        Ask the students to write them on the blackboard.
4.  Presenting
        a. We usually link a consonant sound with a vowel sound together like this.
        an apple→ an apple
        b. When two consonant sounds are the same, we only need to pronounce the sound once.
        best time → best time
        c. When there are two vowel sounds and the first word ends with /i/ or /i:/ sound, we join them as if there were a /j/ sound between them.
        we enjoy → we enjoy
        d. When there are two vowel sounds and the first word ends with /u/ or /u:/ sound, we join them as if there were a /w/ sound between them .
        go out → go out
5。 Practising
        Your English teacher is teaching you how to link words when you speak. Listen carefully. See how you can link these pairs of words together. Then practice saying the words.
        Finish Part A B C D on page 36.

检测反馈:
Translate some phrases:
