Amy's taller than Lingling.   教学设计
教学内容:
《Amy’s taller than  Lingling.》是新标准英语三年级起点第四册第五模块第一单元的内容,这一课的主要内容是形容词比较级的初步了解和应用,要求学生通过对形容词的掌握就使用事物的大小,长短,高矮等进行比较。在一定情景下会用:____is  taller than____,____is shorter than____. 等这样的句型进行对话。
教学目标:
1. 初步认识比较级taller、shorter、 older 、younger 、stronger。
2. 能听说认读单词tall, old, short, young, strong, big, long及听说认读句型 Sam is older than Daming.等
3.能运用“____  is  ____er   than____. ”的句型来描述人或者事物。
教学重点:
1能够听、说、读、写新单词:older、younger、older、stronger、taller、shorter、than。
2能够听懂、会说:A is taller/shorter/ stronger/ younger... than B.
教学难点:
1、 句型:A is taller/shorter... than B的表达,--er的发音。
2、学生能够将所学的语言运用到生活中。
教学方法:
针对四年级学生的身心特征,结合学生的原有认知水平,采用形象直观法让学生展开联想,发展思维。采用情景表演法,加深学生的理解。采用任务教学法调动学习的积极性,培养其语言综合运用能力。让学生知道形容词变比较级的一般变化规律,在形容词后加er.并掌握其发音。
教学准备:课件、卡片、实物等。

教学步骤:
Step 1: Warming up
1、Greetings:Hello,boys and girls,and how are you?
2、Chant with actions.
3、Describe persons or things with the adjectives—tall、short、old、young、big、small、fat、thin
Step 2: Presentation
1、Ask students to read the text after the flash,and judge the sentences.
2、Teacher gives the correct answer,if the student who answers well can get rid of one small piece of paper from the picture for the team。
3.Read the text again, find the rules about the comparative degree and try to read the new words according to the wards wall.
⑴The students find the word “that”,and the teacher lead them learn it from the Words Wall.(that--an)
⑵The students find :taller、shorter、 older 、younger 、stronger and the teacher lead them learn the pronunciation from the Words Wall.(teacher,farmer,clever)
⑶Give more words and ask students to read.
⑷Give learning tips to the students , ask them to learn the rules about the comparative degree.And chant a jingle to consolidate the comparative degree
⑸A game about the comparative degree.
Step 3: learn the text
1.Read the text after the tape.
2、Practise in pairs.
Step 4: Consolidation and practice
1.Teacher shows the sentences about the comparative degree and ask students to say more.
Examples: I’m taller than\older\thinner…
          The red balloon is bigger than the yellow balloon.
          The pencil is longer than the pen.
          Sam is stronger than Peter.
2、Boys and girls have a competition about saying the comparative degree.
3.Make a dialogue to describe the animals with the comparative degree. The animal cards have been prepared by the students.
4、A test about the comparative degree.
Step 5: Summary and homework
Sum up:
Ask students what they have gained.
Homework:
1、Read the text fluently.
2、Use the comparative degree to describe your family.
3、Look up 2 famous mountains  and  historic spots in China.
